Marta Carbonell Amela is a Berlin-based director and creative director drawn to stories where emotion, atmosphere, and cinematic language meet.

Originally from Barcelona, she spent over a decade in London working across art direction, visual effects, and animation. During more than thirteen years at The Mill in London and Berlin, and later at Psyop, she collaborated with directors, agencies, and production companies on numerous international productions.

Working closely with filmmakers across all stages of production naturally led her to directing. Alongside directing her own work, Marta has collaborated creatively with other directors as animation director, creative director, and co-director, helping shape the visual language, rhythm, and tone of films. Her creative and animation direction on projects such as Samsung, The Spider,  awarded multiple times for animation and VFX, as well as several LEGO films and other live-action collaborations reflects a multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking.

These experiences continue to inform and shape her voice as a director.
